Where To Live When Retirement Arrives

Most people these days think that if your sixty or over and live near a college or university you have to be a teacher or an old student living some nostalgia trip. That has changed in today’s society. Whether they are taking classes or just enjoying the life with the young grads, the seniors are flocking to these college towns to live out there years.

These days besides the sun and sand, seniors are expanding there version of retirement to include stretching there social and educational skills. A lot of schools that did not cater to these seniors are now offering classes that cater to these retiring seniors. In some cases they are also allowing them to audit classes at almost no cost, fund programs in the community for them, and even build housing.

A lot of these towns are some of the top-notch places to live. Towns that have fair cost of living, taxes that are lower and of course very good medical care. Because these places are not has well known as some of the other retirement getaways the cost to seniors is a lot less than usual. Some of these schools offer unlimited courses for about $100 dollars a semester, which gives them the chance to audit school, classes for free.

Some of the states attributed to these new retirement homes are Oregon, New Mexico, and Maine. Most of the locations include a variety of things to do. Most of the locations have pristine weather including almost three hundred days a year of sunshine. Towns range from locations all over the United States.

A great majority of the seniors that move to one of the locations stay and would not leave for anything. With the combination of low price homes, freedom to expand there knowledge with some of the best schools, and a bouquet of things to do that cater to seniors, it seems that living in a college town might be one of the most lucrative decisions you could make when you retire.
